Our Lost Scrolls of Ev, the Mighty Writ of Most Noble Their majesties Our Glorious Rulers have been temporarily misplaced.
The memories of subjects of Ev are loyal and far-reaching, and we hope their quills will scratch lively upon the spaces here with tales of their adventures through the ages, starting with the First Ev King, King Corian of Gavermondsleigh who came to Ev by mysterious means in the years preceding the Great Storm.
Please keep all scrollings between 300 and 1000 characters, please. Our scribe is writing as fast as he can.

King Corian of Gavermondsleigh came to Ev by mysterious means in the years preceding the Great Storm.
He was aided by the Fairy King of Lunaria, who wanted the hereditary lands for himself. Corian thought to take only a few pockets full of gold, a magic ring given to him at birth, a blue feathered bird with silver teeth, a magic belt, and a length of rope with strange properties.
Watching him go was the Queen of the Mermaids, whose daughter had been in love with Corian. After many trials, Corian realized he would never get back to Gaversmondsleigh .
In later years Corian forbade anyone to speak of Gaversmondsleigh.

At long last King Corian answered the mobbing crowds and strode forth to the Pier to survey the calm and empty waves.

and there he noticed the five-feathered winged sea-bird of Gaversmondsleigh. His face went pale. His eyes scanned the roiling mass of waves for something, perhaps, a face.
The crowd stood quietly as he walked to and fro.
Finally, he stood forth and whispered into the ears of the herald, and after that strode up the path back to the castle.
None dared follow. The herald then announced, :

The Prince Corian will have a stout ship built to carry him across the waves.
When he meets the ambassador of this foul portent he will treat with them and convey the good wishes of our people. Perhaps they will lift this curse.
Until then, the Royal Granaries will supply provender to you all.
But a lone old woman stood forth and said, :

The Fairies rule the Sea, all know that. Who will rule if he does not come back? For the young prince had not yet wed.
And the herald carried the old woman's words to the Prince as he bid his stewards prepare for the journey.
